Leslie W. Langbein, Esq.


Leslie W. Langbein was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1980 and began her practice in the City Attorney’s Office for the City of Hollywood, FL. Her primarily area of responsibility was labor relations. In 1986, Mrs. Langbein joined the law firm of Valdes-Fauli, Cobb & Petrey as an associate attorney. Due to her background in government, she was assigned to serve as Florida International University’s general counsel. She provided legal advice and representation to the university until 1996 when she left to join her husband’s law practice. Mrs. Langbein also became a Florida Certified Circuit/Civil mediator the same year. In 2001, Mrs. Langbein was awarded Board Certification by the Florida Bar in the specialty of Labor and Employment Law. Mrs. Langbein concentrates her practice in Employment and Civil Rights Law, administrative law (including licensure issues) and business matters. She has litigated extensively in federal and state court and before agencies. Mrs. Langbein is well-regarded as a mediator and arbitrator.

Mrs. Langbein is listed on the American Arbitration Association’s Labor, Employment and Commercial national panels of arbitrators and also is a permanent panelist on several State of Florida labor panels. Mrs. Langbein also serves as a private judge when parties desire a confidential resolution of their disputes. Mrs. Langbein is an approved mediator for the Southern and Middle Districts of the U.S. District Court in Florida as well as a panelist on the American Arbitration Association’s national panel of mediators. Mrs. Langbein is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, and in December 2013 was inducted to the Florida Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. She is due to start a term as President of the Florida Bar's Labor & Employment Section starting in 2016.
