Leslie W. Langbein, Esq. of Langbein ADR Services has over 40 years of experience in the area of Labor and Employment law, both as a former advocate representing clients in federal and state courts and in administrative proceedings and as an Alternative Dispute Resolution neutral, Ms. Langbein has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar in the specialty practice of Labor and Employment law since 2001 and previously served as the Chair of the Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment Section. Her success as a practitioner of Employment Law has resulted in her yearly selection as a “Super Lawyer” in this area by her peers. Ms. Langbein also is a recognized expert in the practice of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ms. Langbein is a Diplomate member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and the Florida Association of Professional Mediators. Ms. Langbein has served as a speaker and trainer for the American Arbitration Association and also has served as a faculty member for the Florida Bar’s ADR Section’s Academy of Arbitration and Masters of Mediation programs, and now in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution. In 2023 she was named a “Super Lawyer” in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Ms. Langbein has litigated, arbitrated, and mediated race, sex, religion, national origin, age, gender, disability and pregnancy discrimination claims, and retaliation claims arising out of those areas of discrimination. Ms. Langbein is equally proficient in the complexities of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which sets the standards and exemptions for overtime and minimum wages and its companion Florida law, the Florida Minimum Wage Act. She is adept at mediating and arbitrating claims for unpaid wage and commissions, breach of employment and business protection agreements (including non-competition, non-disclosures, non-solicitation, and work-for-hire agreements), business torts (including fraud in the inducement, defamation, tortious interference, and theft of trade secrets) and other statutory and common law claims which arise out of employment relationships. The resolution of Family Medical Leave Act, Whistleblower Act, Polygraph Protection Act, Federal Employment, Worker’s Compensation retaliation and labor dispute claims also are a vital part of  Langbein ADR Services’ practice.

Internal workplace

Ms. Langbein’s practice experience also includes conducting internal workplace investigations for businesses and organizations who want the perspective and experience of a neutral outside party to determine the appropriate course of action. She also has vast experience serving as a labor arbitrator and hearing officer for government bodies. She also serves as a Special Magistrate by appointment of the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission to resolve collective bargaining impasses in the public sector.
